Breeders’ Cup 2016 Recap: Winners on 4 November

Juvenile Turf

Oscar Performance is the winner of this year’s Santa Anita Park Juvenile Turf. Oscar Performance covered the mile in 1:33:28, bringing the second victory for the Amerman Racing Stable. Back in 2003, the Amerman Racing Stable won the Distaff with Adoration. Lancaster Bomber came second and Good Samaritan third, after Oscar Performance.

Dirt Mile

The winner in the competition this year was Tamarkuz from Shadwell Stables. Gun Runner finished second and Accelerate third. Tamarkuz is trained by Kiaran McLaughlin finished first on the track in 1:35.72, just a neck in front of Accelerate who fell on third place.

Juvenile Fillies Turf

New Money Honey, daughter of Medaglia d’Oro, won the competition this year. Coasted and Cavale Doree followed on second and third places. New Money Honey covered a mile in 1:34.01, bringing the seventh victory for the rider, Javier Castellano, and the eighth victory for the trainer, Chad Brown.

Longines Distaff

Beholder fought well for her spot on the first place this year in the Distaff competition. She won a tough victory against Songbird and Forever Unbridled, in a fast round 1:49.20. She was trained by Richard Mandella who is very proud of her, and her jockey was Gary Stevens.
